School Council
Our school Council is a group of democratically elected children from each cohort in school.
Annual elections take place and from 2023 these will take place in May to reflect the local election process. Our Burnley Councillor and Governor, Mr Mike Steel is supporting us with this process and will be acting as our Returning Officer. Watch this space!
Our School Councillors provide all our children with a voice. Children are consulted through their School Council representative and their thoughts, ideas, challenges and ‘niggles’ are shared in fortnightly meetings which are facilitated by Mrs Boughen, as Headteacher and Mr Paddy Martin, as Governor. These meetings are led and minuted by the children themselves and supported by the adults.
School Councillors are also often asked to represent school in other ways for example, when we have new parents or important visitors. School Councillors will be involved. our School Councillors also interview our Governors on appointment and their bios can be found under the Governor section of our website. Why not take a look!
