Summer 1

In English we are looking at 'The Great Outdoors.' Within this topic we are reading the story 'Winnie the Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner.' So far the children are showing lots of interest and are excited to keep learning.

In Maths our topic is 'Multiplication and division.' This involves us learning to count in 2's, 5's and 10's and grouping equally. This topic can we very tricky, but the children are showing great determination in their learning. 

This half term our science topic is 'Animals.' We will be identifying and naming a variety of common animals including fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds. We will also be looking at food chains, life cycles, animals and their young, and describing the male, female, and the young vocabulary for each animal. 

We have a lovely topic in Geography this half term 'Where do we go on holiday in the UK?' We will be discussing what a holiday is, where we stay on holiday and what we like to do on holiday. The children will have lots of opportunities to share their own experiences.
